Terms of Service

§1

Who you're agreeing with

These terms are an agreement between you and Nova Technologies Ltd., a British Columbia company (“HoopHub”, “we”, “us”). We build and run HoopHub — the website at hoophub.ca and the HoopHub apps.

§2

Using HoopHub

Use HoopHub honestly. Enter accurate game data, do not impersonate other players, and do not attempt to abuse or overload the service. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these principles.

§3

Community rules

HoopHub has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. That means no sexual content, violence, harassment, hate speech, threats, impersonation, or spam — on a profile, a post, a run listing, or anywhere else in the app. We remove content that breaks these rules and terminate the accounts of the users responsible, with no exceptions.

§4

Your content

You own the game events, stats, and other content you enter. By submitting content you grant HoopHub a licence to display it on public pages — such as game reports, standings, rosters, player profiles, league pages and posts — as part of the core product experience. For what stays on HoopHub after you leave or delete your account — such as game records and posts you published for a league, as our Privacy Policy describes — the licence continues.

§5

Information you enter about other people

Running a league or a team on HoopHub means entering information about other people — their names, photos, email addresses, phone numbers or Instagram handles, for example. You are responsible for that information. Only enter information you have the right to share with us, such as details a player gave you so they could play, or agreed to let you record. Don’t enter more than you need, and use it only to run your league, team or games — never for unrelated marketing. Keep it accurate, and correct or remove it if the person it’s about asks you to, or if we do — and tell us if you can’t.

If a player is under 19, you need their parent’s or guardian’s agreement before you enter their information. If anyone — the person it’s about, their parent or guardian, or a regulator — makes a claim or complaint against us because you entered or used information about someone in a way these terms don’t allow, you agree to cover the losses and costs it causes us, including reasonable legal fees.

§6

How we handle that information

We hold the information you enter about other people on your behalf, to run your leagues and teams, and we handle it as our Privacy Policy describes. We never sell it or use it for advertising, and we take reasonable steps to keep it secure. Some of it appears on public pages — such as game records, rosters, player and league pages, and the posts you publish (see Your content). Otherwise, we share it only with the people who run the leagues and teams it belongs to, the members of a private team it’s on, the person it’s about, and the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, or when the law requires it. The person it’s about can ask us to see, correct or remove it, and we may act on that request ourselves, without waiting for you. We may also remove information that breaks these terms.

If you stop running a league or a team, or delete your account, the records you created for it — rosters, player records and the games you scored — stay with that league or team, because they are part of its history. Photos and other images you uploaded are the exception: they are deleted with your account, as our Privacy Policy says — unless a player has made one their own profile photo. You can’t delete your account while you own a league brand: contact us first, and we’ll hand the brand over or close it. Its game records stay either way, because they are part of players’ careers.

§7

Availability

HoopHub is provided as-is during early launch. We make no guarantees of uptime or feature stability. Features may change, be added, or be removed as the product evolves. We will aim to give reasonable notice for breaking changes.

§8

Reporting and enforcement

Report objectionable content or an abusive user right from the app — look for the Report action on posts, profiles, runs, teams, and leagues. You can also block a user to stop seeing them. Reports reach us at info@hoophub.ca, and we act within 24 hours: removing content that violates these rules and, where warranted, terminating the responsible account.
